First, decide whether you want to see results for all the parishes in the county or just one.
If you select a parish and do not enter anything else, you will see a list of all the records we have for that place. You may download this as a tab-separated text file to import into your spreadsheet or word processor.
If you add all or part of a field name, you will see results for the area you selected.
This search does not offer one enormous list of all the items in all the parishes in the county.
Click any item in the list of the results to get the location centred on the map. You can then click the pin for more details.
How to add Field Names etc.
Please make sure you have the correct county selected from the "Go to" list in the menu above.
Drag the map and zoom with the + and - buttons to find the field, footpath, building etc. For a clear view, click "Satelite" and uncheck "Labels".
Click or tap a point as close as possible to the middle of the feature. Generally, we are interested only in those not usually named on current maps.
Use the pop-up form to fill in traditional, local names and any other information you can. Please do not include advertising or other inappropriate content; use the web link for a photo already on line or for other pages about relevant history or geography or wildlife etc. If you have a really interesting photo or story about a place which is not yet on line ask us if we could make it into a page on this website.
Our volunteers will get a notice to review and approve your contribution as soon as they can.

For each county that we add to the website, we need a moderator to undertake the simple task of reviewing new additions to the database.
Moderators receive an e-mail when a new item for their county is added. They log on to the website, click the relevant blue map pin and, if they see no problems, click "show". That's it ... unless ...
The vast majority of contributors are sensible, friendly people who enjoy sharing country lore. But just now and then we get someone trying to abuse the site by advertising business premises or adding inappropriate additional content. Some contributors may not have noticed that a field is already in the database.
In those cases a moderator may need to edit or delete the item or, if the contributor added their email address, check the details.
We hope that moderators will also encourage more interest from their county and share the activity of our Facebook Group »
If you can help us expand our archive into to your county, please contact us now »
